You will be recruited to CIRAD’s Joint Research Unit CIRAD-INRAE ASTRE (“AnimalS, health, Territories, Risks, Ecosystems”), which aims to improve animal and veterinary public health in developing countries by implementing integrated, cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary approaches (microbiology, epidemiology, human and social sciences). You will join the Montpellier Microbiology Group (CMM), which comprises around forty researchers, engineers and technicians. More precisely, you will work within the OIE/FAO Reference Laboratory for contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP), contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) and contagious agalactia of small ruminants (CA), diseases caused by bacteria of the genus Mycoplasma. The mandate of the Laboratory is to carry out scientific and technical research aimed at the development of diagnostic, surveillance and control tools, and to engage in expert assessment and training activities. You will mainly conduct research on ruminant mycoplasmoses with the aim of improving the surveillance and control of CBPP, CCPP and AC, in a context of massive use of antibiotics.
